Build the Machine Before the Metrics

KPIs only work when the engine is built to support them

Most sales orgs obsess over the scoreboard… before they ever build the machine that actually produces the score.

They get lost in dashboards. They argue about definitions. They add more KPIs. They color code reports like a design agency. They become world-class data decorators.

But here’s the brutal truth:

Metrics don’t fix broken systems. Metrics only measure performance.
